80 percent autorickshaw drivers in Srinagar have CFMs: RTO

Srinagar: To ensure that the passengers are not overcharged by the auto drivers, transport authorities have decided not to renew the auto permit of autorikhshaw owners without submission of fare meter calibration certificate by them.
Regional transport officer, Kashmir in a statement said that the decision in this regard was taken recently in a meeting with deputy director, legal metrology department.
The RTO in a statement said that eighty percent autorickshaw drivers in Srinagar have calibrated fare meters.
The drive to check the CFMs , the statement said, is being further intensified to ensure that passengers are not overcharged.
