Parliamentary delegation headed by Speaker to visit UAE today

New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will lead an Indian parliamentary delegation to the United Arab Emirates from February 21 to 25 on the invitation of the Speaker of the United Arab Emirates.

This is first ever visit under the bilateral exchange of parliamentary delegations from either side.

The delegation includes Sushil Kumar Modi, Fauzia Tahseen Ahmed Khan, M K Vishnu Prasad, P Ravindhranath, Shankar Lalwani and Sujay Radhakrishna Vikhepatil and Secretary General of Lok Sabha Utpal Kumar Singh and Joint Secretary Ajay Kumar. During their visit to the United Arab Emirates, the delegation apart from meeting their host, Saqr Gobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council of UAE, will also call on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces, as well as Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Birla will also address the Federal National Council on February 22. The delegation will visit places of cultural and historical importance at Abu Dhabi and Dubai. (UNI)
