New Delhi: In a top-deck bureaucratic reshuffle, the Centre on Monday shifted as many as nine senior officers to new posts while approving in-situ upgradation of eight.
Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved appointment of senior IAS officer Pankaj Jain as Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas.
The 1990-batch officer is currently Additional Secretary in the Department of Financial Services.
Leena Nandan, 1987-batch IAS officer of UP cadre has been moved to Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change as Secretary from Department of Consumer Affairs where she had been at the helm of bureaucracy.
Vini Mahajan, presently in the cadre, has been posted as Secretary, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti.
The ACC has approved posting of MP cadre IAS officer Sanjay Kumar Singh, presently in Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances and Department of Pensions & Pensioners Welfare as Secretary, Ministry of Steel.
Rajeev Ranjan, Special Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance has been moved as Secretary in the National Commission for Backward Classes in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
The ACC has also approved in-situ upgradation of several officers to the level of Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
Accordingly, Sanjay Malhotra, Chairman and Managing Director, REC Ltd has been upgraded in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
Alkesh Kumar Sharma, Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat has been upgraded to the rank of Special Secretary.
Among other senior officers, Raj Kumar Goyal, Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of External Affairs has been upgraded as Special Secretary & Financial Advisor. (UNI)
