J&K to implement Real-Time Land Information System

DCs asked to collect Aadhar, mobile numbers of land holders

Srinagar: The administration of Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory is in the process of implementation of Real-Time Land Information System (RTLIS).

Documents in possession of The Precious Kashmir reveal that J&K government has set the ball rolling for implementation of RTLIS, which will provide landholders information about the changes made in their land records on real-time basis.

To begin with, the government has directed all deputy commissioners to collect Aadhar and mobile numbers of land owners for operatilisation of RTLIS.

“For operatilisation of Real Time Land Information System, seeding of Aadhar and mobile numbers in the land records is a prerequisite. It is hereby enjoined upon the deputy commissioners to immediately collect the Aadhar(with consent) and mobile numbers of land owners, so that the changes in land records, entries made, updation done is made known to the landholders on real-time basis,” reads a circular issued by the Revenue department.

The deputy commissioners have also been directed to sensitize masses about the initiative through a special campaign.

“ The deputy commissioners shall collect the information Patwar Halqa wise in a mission mode through a special campaign- Patwar Halqa Awareness Cum Collection Campaign(PHACCC), wherein, besides, sensitizing the citizens about the benefits of the initiative shall also collect the mobile numbers and Aadhar of landholders( with consent),” it states.

The PHACCC shall be immediately launched by the deputy commissioners in collaboration with line departments and Panchayat Raj Institutions(PRIs) with maximum use of Information Education & Communication(IEC) tools, print and electronic and social media.

The Revenue department has directed both divisional commissioners to monitor the progress made by districts of weekly basis and apprise the same to it.

The deputy commissioners have also been directed to file consolidated information of their districts to the administrative department by or before January 10, 2022.
