Work on twin GMCs in Kashmir in full swing

83 % work completed in Anantnag, 75 % in Baramulla

Srinagar: The work on twin Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) in South Kashmir’s Anantnag and north Kashmir’s Baramulla district was going on in full swing while the executing agency has informed the government that the half of the blocks at the twin colleges will be completed by the end of this month.

A record note of a meeting a chaired by divisional commissioner Kashmir P.K. Pole on November 26 to review development projects in Kashmir Valley, lays bare that Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) Limited apprised him that the revised deadline for completion of GMC Anantnag is December 2021 but only 83 percent work has been completed so far.

The documents in possession of The Precious Kashmir reveal that he was informed that out of 10 blocks, five will be ready by ending December 2021.

The Divisional Commissioner directed them that remaining five blocks should be completed by March 31, 2022 in all respects.

According to the document, JKPCC further informed the participants that revised deadline for completion of GMC Baramulla is also December 31, 2021, however, only 75 percent progress has been achieved till date and work is in full swing.

The document further reveals that it was apprised that out 08 blocks of GMC Baramulla, four will be ready by 31-12-2021.

“The chair directed out of 08 blocks/works four shale be completed in all respects by or before 31-12-2021 and the remaining four shall be completed by or before March 3l. 2021,” the note further reads.

In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla requested that more manpower needs to be deployed for completion of the project on time.
