Jammu: Speedster from Jammu and Kashmir Umran Malik and all-rounder Abdul Samad have been retained by the Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction.
Taking to microblogging site, Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association, administrator Brig (retd) Anil Gupta said “Congratulations. Abdul Samad and Umran Malik both retained by Hyderabad Sunrisers for 4 crore each. Congrats to both.”
Speedster Umran Malik, who had impressed everyone with his raw pace in the recently concluded IPL 2021 season, was also selected into the India-A team for the South Africa tour.
Earlier, part of India T20 squad in T20 World Cup as net bowler, Umran made a mark after impressing everyone with his pace during Indian Premier League (IPL) for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the UAE.
He emerged as the fastest bowler of IPL 2021 by clocking 153 kph and consistently bowling over 150 kph.
Another all-rounder, Abdul Samad, who had represented SunRisers Hyderabad in 2020 and first leg of 2021, has also been retained. (UNI)
