Srinagar: With the aim to convey positive message amongst the local populace through entertainment in the form of Bhaand Pather live performance, a joint initiative was undertaken by Army Camp, Langate and Civil Administration in close support of Shajahan, Chairman All J&K Folk Theatres.
The event was organised at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Langate and turned out to be a grand success wherein approx 1500 locals witnessed the event with great zeal and enthusiasm.
A total of four Folk Theatres participated in the event and performed on different themes. The theaters include Nandresi Theatre, Kupwara – Importance of Education, Snober Theatre, Sopore – Corruption, Wuller Theatre, Budgam – Drug Menace and Bomi Lok Theatre, Badgam – Traffic Control.
The event was attended by Irfan Panditpuri DDC Chairman Kupwara, Hamid Fani, Chief Education Officer Kupwara, Javed Qureshi, members of Lalded Youth Club and Mawar Youth Society, Various Civil Administration officials and large number of locals also attended.
At the end of the event, best folk theatre and best performers were felicitated. The members of Lalded Youth Club and Mawar Youth Society were also felicitated in view of their active involvement and support for such events.
All performers of Bhaand Pather displayed exceptional wit and humour. The show received enthusiastic response from spectators and all expressed their gratitude and desire to witness such events in future too.
