DGP sanctions Rs 2.78 cr special welfare relief for NOKs of slain cops

Jammu: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh Monday sanctioned Rs 2.78 Crore ex-gratia/special welfare relief for NoKs of slain/deceased police personnel vide different orders of PHQ.

Under an order Rupees 38 lakh ex-gratia relief has been sanctioned in favour of dependents and legal heirs of slain Police Inspector Parvaiz Ahmad Dar. Rupees 20 lakh special welfare relief has also been sanctioned in favour of the NOKs of the said slain Inspector.

Under another order of PHQ, the DGP has sanctioned Rupees 20 lakh each in favour dependents and legal heirs of deceased police personnel ASI Noor Alam, ASI Mohammad Younis, ASI Joginder Singh, HC (P) Naseer Ahmad, HC Gurmeet Singh, Sgct Mohammad Maqbool, Sgct Mohammad Maroof, Ct.  Bilal Ahmad, Foll.  Ashok Kumar, Foll Rajinder Kour, Foll. Ved Parkesh and Foll.  Bilal Ahmad. These personnel have passed away while in service.

Meanwhile, the DGP has also sanctioned Rupees 25 thousand each in favour of two SPOs who were injured in militant related incidents.

Similarly, Rupees ten thousand has been sanctioned in favour of a constable and Rupees five thousand each has been sanctioned in favour of three police personnel who were injured during performance of their duties.

The amount has been sanctioned as a welfare relief from the Central Police welfare fund.
