J&K Yateem Foundation felicitates achievers

Srinagar: The J&K Yateem foundation Saturday felicitated it’s outgoing students who were able to secure admission in various professional streams in and outside the Union territory of J&K. A function in this regard was held at it’s Baitul Hilal orphanage at Jawahar Nagar which was attended by a cross section of people from all walks of life. Senior Journalist Altaf Hussain was the guest of honour who presided over the function and felicitated the performers.

Earlier the event commenced with the recitation of Quranic verses by the participating students. Followed by the guest speakers who addressed the gathering and felicitated the outgoing students for their achieved feats in academics. All the speakers at the function were all praise for the performing students and gave them valuable tips for the future ahead while cautioning them against complacency.

“This is your stepping stone and a vast future lies ahead of you where you will be tested and hence you need to perform more and more ” one of the speakers stressed upon the outshining students.

Different guests stood up to felicitate the students in their own way and shared life experiences with them.

The event concluded With the valedictory address by the senior journalist Altaf Hussain who while lauding the role played by the volunteers of the J&K Yateem foundation in grooming the pupil there urged upon passouts to set high standards for life.

Altaf asked the orphans there to study the life of Prophet Mohammad (saw) who himself was an orphan and therefore it is a “distinction” not a curse.

“Wherever you go from here perform well and be honest and dedicated professionals in life. We are in need of more honest and dedicated professionals”, Altaf stressed upon the outgoing students.

At the end there was a brief prize distribution ceremony where gifts were distributed amongst the achieving students.
