ED, CBI chiefs’ tenures extended up to 5 years

New Delhi: The tenures of the Directors of both the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have been extended up to five years.

According to the Ministry of Law and Justice, the President on Sunday promulgated two Ordinances, the Central Vigilance Commission (Amendment) Ordinance, 2021 and the Delhi Special Police Establishment (Amendment) Ordinance, 2021, to extend the tenures of the ED and CBI chiefs, respectively up to five years from the existing two years.

The Centre brought both the Ordinances, days before the start of the Winter session of Parliament. (UNI)
