DIG CKR visits Budgam, reviews security scenario

Srinagar: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) CKR Srinagar Sujit Kumar Tuesday visited district Budgam and chaired a review meeting pertaining to security scenario, anti-militancy operations, law and order, anti-drug mafia drive, illegal mining and other issues related to day-to-day policing at DPO Budgam.

Besides, SSP Budgam also reviewed functioning of CCTNS project in the district.

According to a statement, the security review meeting was attended by SSP Budgam Tahir Saleem, DySP Hqrs Budgam, SDPO Charar-i-Sharief, SDPO Magam, SDPO Khan Sahib, DySP DAR DPL Budgam, DySP PC Budgam and other senior Police officers of the district.

SSP Budgam Tahir Saleem gave a detailed presentation about various aspects of policing besides public oriented plans and status of crime in the district.

DIG CKR Srinagar appreciated the efforts of police in Budgam for maintaining law and order in the district.

During the meeting, he also reviewed the overall security situation, counter insurgency operations and measures taken to contain the spread of Covid-19 in the district. He also directed all the officers to complete investigation of pending cases on priority.

He also laid stress on strengthening the police-public relations; service oriented policing which will help in gaining the confidence and trust of general public. He emphasised upon the officers to adopt professional approach while dealing with counter insurgency operations.

Earlier, Deputy Inspector General of Police CKR was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour by contingent of Police at District Police Headquarters Budgam.

Besides, SSP Budgam Tahir Saleem chaired a review meeting with all the MHCs and CCTNS operators of Police Stations of the district. During the meeting SSP Budgam emphasised upon all MHCs/CCTNS operators to adhere the guidelines and instructions regarding filling of FIRs and other details in the software on real-time basis without any delay.

SSP Budgam urged upon the officials that the details with regard to process of investigation should also be uploaded immediately so that a transparent e-policing can be provided to the general public as envisaged under CCTNS project.

He also advised them to accelerate the process of feeding left over data and synchronise the same on daily basis.
