Upgrade wiring of transformer in locality: Royal Lane, Kursu residents to PDD

Srinagar: Inhabitants of Royal Lane, Noorani Colony– B, Kursu Padshahi Bagh here on Monday appealed the Power Development Department (PDD) to upgrade wiring of transformer installed in the locality.

A delegation from the area told Precious Kashmir that the colony transformer cannot bear the load due to damaged wires and link sets connected with high tension transmission lines.

They said the insulated connectors often catch fire due to damaged wiring. “Most of the time the electricity in our locality is cut in order to save the transformer from major damages,” they said.

“The problem is compounded by worn out power transmission lines which pose risk to colony inhabitants,” the residents said.

“We have taken up the matter with concerned AEE and JE of Electric Sub Division Chanapora (KPDCL) Srinagar but no action was taken to replace the damaged wiring. We appeal the Chief Engineer PDD, Ajaz Ahmad Dar to look into the matter and direct the concerned officers to upgrade the wiring on priority,” they said.
