Sinha hands over appointment letter to wife of slain teacher

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday handed over an appointment letter to the wife of teacher Deepak Chand, who was among two persons killed by the terrorists last month in Srinagar.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the office of the Lieutenant Governor on Friday posted, “Today handed over appointment letter to Aradhna Mehra, wife of martyr Deepak Chand, who was killed by terrorists in Srinagar. Assured all help and assistance to the family.”

The secretariat of the Lieutenant Governor on Monday also started working from Jammu after it moved from summer capital Srinagar to this winter capital of the state.

On October 7, the militants barged into the Government Boys Higher Secondary School, located in Iddgah Sangam area of the old city and fired from point-blank range at two teachers including Deepak Chand, leading to their on-the-spot death.

A woman from minority community, identified as Supinder Kour (46), was also shot dead by the militants.

Militant outfit The Resistant Force (TRF) has claimed the responsibility for the killings. (UNI)
