Srinagar: In view of the spike of COVID-19 positive cases, Director Health Services Kashmir on Monday directed all Chief Medical Officers (CMOs), Medical Superintendents and Block Medical Officers (BMOs) to set up testing facilities at social places, marriage functions and religious gathering.

According to an official spokesman, Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Mushtaq Rather directed all the CMOs, Medical Superintendents and BMOs of Kashmir division to set up the testing centres at all social places, marriage halls as well as religious gatherings.

The step has been taken following a rise in the coronavirus positive cases in the valley, to ensure proper implementation of COVID-19 appropriate behavior, the spokesman said.

Dr Rather also directed all responsible officials of the health department to plan for setting up of these centres and have been asked to share all information about COVID-19 cases, the spokesman said.

It is pertinent to mention here that three persons succumbed to Covid-19 infection and 92 fresh cases were reported alone in the Kashmir valley today.
