Anantnag: A black bear was captured by wildlife department in Akingam area of Achabal hamlet in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday.
A wildlife official said that on Sunday evening, they had received a call that a bear was roaming in Akingam area of the district after which a team was sent there.
“As soon as the team reached there, searches were launched besides that a trap was also laid in the area,” the official said, adding that “On Monday morning, a black bear was captured without causing any damage to any person in the area.”
He further said that the bear was later shifted to Wildlife Sanctuary Daksum.
Pertinently, on Saturday, a black bear was captured in Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. (KNO)
