Night temp plummets; MeT predicts dry weather till Nov 10

Srinagar: The minimum temperature continued to record dip in most parts of the Valley while the weatherman here has said weather most likely to remain generally cloudy on 2nd and 5-6th November.

“Light Rain/Snow is likely at scattered places during the above period,” a meteorological department official said.

“There’s no forecast of any major rain and snow till November 10 in both Jammu and Kashmir,” the official said.

Meanwhile night temperature dropped across Kashmir Valley with the famous Pahalgam resort recording minus 3.2°C.

The official said that Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 2.6°C against 2.9°C on the previous night.

Qazigund, the gateway town of Kashmir, recorded a low of 2.2°C against previous night’s 2.8°C, the official said.

Pahalgam, the famous resort in south Kashmir, recorded a low of minus 3.2°C against minus 2.0°C on the previous night, he said.

Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, recorded a minimum of 2.3°C against 3.3°C on the previous night, the official said.

Kupwara town of north Kashmir recorded a low of 0.7°C against 1.1°C on the previous night, the official said.

Gulmarg, the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir, recorded a minimum of 0.0°C, the same as on previous night, the official said.

The temperatures have fallen considerably after record rainfall and snowfall in some plains and upper reaches.
