Srinagar: National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two more alleged militant associates in the ongoing probe in militant conspiracy case, taking the total number of persons picked up in the case to 25 so far.
A NIA statement said, two more persons identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Wani from Srinagar and Umar Bhat of Sopore in north Kashmir were arrested in different raids conducted during the past 24 hours.
He said both have been booked under the conspiracy for carrying out violent militant acts in Jammu and Kashmir and other major cities at the behest of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad, Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen, Al Badr and their affiliates, the Resistance Front (TRF) and People Against Fascists Forces (PAFF).
The NIA statement said that preliminary investigation has revealed that arrested accused persons are militant associates and Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of various militant organisations and have been providing logistical and material support to them.
He said so far 25 accused persons have been arrested in different raids carried out by the sleuths of NIA in Jammu and Kashmir and cases have been registered against them.
