Peaceful atmosphere can promote bonhomie relations between Indo-Pak: Soz

Srinagar:  Former Union Minister and senior congress leader, Prof. Saifuddin Soz Wednesday said that the atmosphere of peace can promote good neighbourly relations between India and Pakistan.

“Home Minister of India, Shri Amit Shah is right when he says that he would like to talk to youth in J&K State. But, he is not right when he says that he won’t talk to Pakistan. How can India not talk to Pakistan, when that country happens to be its first neighbour?,” he asked in a statement.

He said Prime Minister Modi rightly described this relationship recently to the Prime Minister of Pakistan. “Modi had correctly described this relationship in his letter to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan as recently as on 22nd March, 2021, that as a neighbourly country, India desired cordial relations with the people of Pakistan and for strengthening this relationship, an environment of trust happened to be an imperative.”

“PM Imran Khan’s gesture to PM Modi’s message was in the right direction when he said that the people of Pakistan equally desired peace and cooperation with India,” he said, adding that “Let us hope that kind of relationship grows by the day!”

“The Kashmir Mainstream Political Class has been consistent in promoting and wishing this relationship to grow, by the day. It is actually an atmosphere of peace that can promote good neighbourly relations between the two countries. Let us hope peace and harmony will prevail,” Soz said.
