Army flags off 29 students from far-flung areas

Srinagar: In a noble education oriented initiative, Army has flagged off 29 students including three girls from far-flung areas of Kashmir valley, selected for admission in prestigious Gen BC Joshi Army Public School Pithoragarh under Operation Sadbhavana at Kupwara.

Such initiative will provide students an avenue to explore unparalleled exposure to not only quality education but also to learn and prosper in a diverse environment and inspire young minds to pursue path of progressive future.

The alumni of this school, a role model for all students have achieved success in varied fields of life like Armed Forces, Indian Administrative Service, Medical and Engineering etc.

Flagging off ceremony included cultural programme, distribution of kit items to all nominated students and singing of National Anthem.

The event terminated with flagging off of students to Army Public School Pithoragarh in pursuit of their dreams and a bright future by Commander Rashtriya Riffles Sector.

SP Kupwara and Assistant Education Officer, Kupwara were among the dignitaries who attended the event. The Commander, while addressing the gathering amplified the importance of education for progressive social reforms and nurturing new phase of Naya Kashmir.

The cost of education to include boarding and lodging charges for these children will be borne by the Army and the government.
