Paris/Islamabad: The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) on Thursday announced that Pakistan will continue to remain on its increased monitoring list, or grey list.
“Pakistan remains under increased monitoring,” said FATF President Dr Marcus Pleyer.
Pakistan has been on the FATF’s increased monitoring list, also known as the grey list, for not doing enough to tackle terror financing and money laundering, since June 2018.
Pleyer said Pakistan had to complete two action plans with a total of 34 items. “It has now addressed or largely addressed 30 of the items,” he said.
He said Pakistan “needs to further demonstrate that action has been taken” on tackling terror financing against senior UN designated terrorists, said Pleyer.
