Another jolt to NC as Ex-deputy mayor among 13 resign

Jammu: A day after the Jammu face of National Conference, Devender Singh Rana, resigned from the party, Jammu and Kashmir NC on Monday faced another jolt as around 13 leaders, including the former Jammu urban deputy mayor, quit the party in solidarity to Rana’s resignation.

Former Deputy Mayor and district president, Jammu Urban, J&K National Conference Dharamveer Singh Jamwal have resigned from the party.

Along with Jamwal, around dozen National Conference members of District and Block Committees have quit the party in support of Rana, (National Conference Provincial President), who have joined the BJP along with senior leader Surjit Singh Slathia in the national capital this morning amidst the presence of Union MoS in PMO Dr Jitender Singh, BJP National General Secretary, Tarun Chugh and top leadership of J&K BJP.

“We have resigned to support our mass leader Mr Rana and will represent the voice of Jammu,” said Jamwal.

He added that the members will work for the cause of Jammu and follow the directions issued from time-to-time by Rana after he returns from Delhi.
