Rana may join BJP in Delhi today, NC appoints Gupta  as new provincial head

Jammu: Jammu face of National Conference and three time legislator, Devender Singh Rana on Sunday resigned from the party and is likely to join the BJP on Monday in New Delhi.

Senior leader Rattan Lal Gupta has been appointed the new Provincial President of the National Conference for Jammu Province.

Rana along with his close friend and another National Conference leader and former minister Surjit Singh Slathia, may join the BJP in the national capital on Monday.

Rana quit the National Conference and from the Provincial Presidentship of the party on Sunday.

The former MLA has also removed his designation of Provincial President of NC from his Twitter handle.

Rana is brother of Union MoS in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh.

“Rana along with Surjeet Singh Slathia may join the BJP tomorrow at BJP Headquarters in Delhi in the presence of General Secretary Arun Singh, Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh, BJP MP Jugal Kishore, former Deputy Chief Ministers and J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina,” party sources said.

A few hours after the resignation of Rana, NC nominated senior party leader Rattan Lal Gupta as Provincial President Jammu till elections for the post were held.
