Prominent graphic designer Akhtar Rasool passes away

Srinagar: A prominent graphic designer, Akhter Rasool died on Sunday morning due to a massive cardiac arrest at his home in Gadood Bagh area of Habba Kadal in Srinagar.

Rasool, who was the lone son of his parents among three children, complained of respiratory issues in the wee hours of Sunday morning at his home.

Family sources said that Rasool was immediately taken to the hospital where he was declared dead, adding that he died due to a massive cardiac arrest.

Akhtar had been a first choice for all the top publications from Srinagar for years. He was also among the top painters of the valley and his paintings mainly revolved around socio-economic, spiritual and religious hues.

The deceased also taught graphic designing at MERC media school in the University of Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Kashmir University Vice Chancellor Prof Talat Ahmad and several other leaders and activists condoled the demise of Rasool and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and also for the courage of the bereaved family.
