Union MoS, MSME Bhanu Partap visits Reasi areas

Interacts with DDC, BDC members, PRI representatives

REASI: As part of the Central Government’s public outreach programme for the Jammu and Kashmir, Union Minister of State (MoS) for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Shri Bhanu Partap Singh Verma, today visited Panchayat Kheryal and other areas of Reasi on his second day of visit to the district.

During his visit, the Minister interacted with the members of various SHGs of UMEED scheme. He also inspected the stalls established by them during the interaction.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Atamnirbhar Bharat and Nari Shakti are the prime objectives of the present government at the centre and numerous schemes have been launched to achieve those objectives.

He said that it is the vision of Prime Minister to make rural women self-reliant and these small enterprises or clusters are being established on that vision by which they earn their livelihood and live a dignified life.

The Minister also advised the SHGs to adopt for better marketing strategies so as to compete at the National and International levels.

On the occasion, the Minister highlighted that business units under MSMEs are contributing 33 per cent to the GDP and said that Prime Minister has set a target of making this contribution to 50 percent.

During the visit, the Minister also interacted with DC members, BDC members and PRI representatives of the area who projected several public issues before the minister.

While interacting with them, the Minister said present outreach programme has been initiated by the Government to ascertain the basic problems of the people from grass root level across J&K. He assured the representatives that the demands and grievances projected by them will be redressed on priority.

Later, the Minister also paid obeisance at Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.
