TRF  militant arrested near Jammu Railway Station

Jammu,: Jammu Police on Sunday said that it  arrested a militant of The Resistance Front (TRF) outfit with pistol and rounds near Jammu Tawi Police Station.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu, Chandan Kohli said on the basis of credible inputs about the movement of Kashmir based militants to Jammu for a specific task to create disturbance in the area, Special Operation Group (SOG) Jammu laid special check points at different locations of Jammu city.

“During checking near railway station Jammu one scooty driver dropped a pillion at some distance about 50-60 metres behind check point and fled away,” said the top cop.

He said the pillion started moving fast towards near by-lane and was carrying a bag on his back.

“On this suspicious movement police party chased him and he was overpowered at some distance,” Kohli said.

The SSP revealed that on preliminary questioning he disclosed his identity as Sheikh Sunain Yousuf alias Raja alias Sultan, resident of Gadapora, Shopian.

During search, the SSP said one Star Pistol loaded with seven cartridges was recovered.

“He was put under sustained questioning on the spot and disclosed that he is an active militant of TRF and had come to Jammu for a specific task, which was not yet conveyed to him by his handlers,” he said.
