Allow only one attendant with a patient in hospital: DHSK

Srinagar: In order to put check on visits of attendants in all hospitals, Director Health Services Kashmir on Thursday asked all Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendents, Block Medical Officers, incharge of Private hospitals and Clinical Establishments to allow only attendant with one patient.

The flow of visitors and attendants is becoming the source of spread of infection especially Covid-19, an official circular said, adding that all hospitals must nominate one nodal officer who will ensure adherence to Covid-19 appreciate behavior.

“In order to put a check on the inflow of attendants and visitors in all health Institutions (Government /Private Clinical Establishment) which is becoming the source of spread of infection especially COVID-19, in order to prevent spread of infections, it is impressed upon all Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendents, Block Medical Officers, incharge of Private hospitals & Clinical Establishments to limit the number of attendants to maximum one accompanying per patient and no visitors should be allowed,” the circular reads.

“Further all the incharges of government hospitals/private hospitals/nursing homes and clinical establishment are directed to nominate one Nodal officer for ensuring adherence to COVID-19 appropriate behavior (CAB) and above instructions in letter and spirit,” it said.

“The list of the nodal officers shall be submitted to this office within one day positively including private hospitals/nursing homes and clinical establishment,” the circular reads. (KNO)
