COVID-19: Kashmir has six times positive cases compared to Jammu

Srinagar has over 750 active cases, Jammu division 218

Srinagar: The Kashmir division has around six times more active positive cases of Covid-19 as compared to the cases in Jammu division.

As per the data available with KNO till 21 September, Kashmir has 1232 active cases while as Jammu has around 218 active cases.

Data also reveals that more than 50 percent of the active cases in Jammu division are from Srinagar which has 768 active cases.

In Jammu division, Doda has highest active cases of 62 while as Kathua has no active case. In Shopian there are just two active cases while as in Samba there are three active cases while in Poonch and Ramban there are five and six active cases respectively.

Apart from Srinagar in Kashmir division, Budgam and Baramulla have active cases of over 100, however, rest of the districts of the valley have below 50 active cases except Ganderbal with 63 active cases.

Total active cases in Kashmir division are 1,232 which includes 768 from Srinagar, 132 Baramulla, 138 Budgam, 28 each in Pulwama and Bandipora, 31 in Kupwara, 18 from Anantnag, 63 from Ganderbal, 24 from Kulgam and two from Shopian.

In Jammu division, only Jammu and Doda districts have active cases above 50 while rest eight district have below 50 active cases.

In Jammu division there are 218 active cases, which includes 62 from Doda, 56 Jammu, 47 from Reasi, 19 Rajouri, 11 Kishtwar, nine from Udhampur, six from Ramban, five from Poonch, three from Samba and none from Kathua.
