Amda Kadal declared ‘micro-containment’ zone, 6 family members test positive

Srinagar: The district administration Srinagar Thursday declared Amda-Kadal area as ‘micro-containment’ zone after six-members of a family tested Covid positive.

Owais Ahmad, nodal officer district Srinagar while speaking to Rising Kashmir said Amda-Kadal area has been declared as ‘micro-containment’ zone. He said the decision was taken after 6-members of a family tested Covid-19 positive.

He added that the preventive measures will be put in place to contain the spread of virus and accordingly the job of random testing in the area would be started.

He added that from the past few days positive cases in the district have started to increase which is a grave concern for the administration.

The officer further added that in Baghwanpora area 16-cases were also reported positive today during random testing in the area. “This area was already declared as a red zone a few days back and today 16 cases were reported from there after authorities took up the drive of a random testing drive in the area”, the Nodal Officer said.
