Sansad TV’ to go live, PM Modi set to launch channel

New Delhi: The services of the new government channel ‘Sansad TV’, which will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 15, will start across the country next week, sources said.

According to the sources, when Parliament is in session, there will be two channels of ‘Sansad TV’, so that the proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha can be continuously broadcast on them.

This channel has been formed through the merger of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha TV.

According to the sources, senior Congress leader Dr Karan Singh, economist Bibek Debroy, NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant and advocate Hemant Batra will host various shows on this new channel.

The sources said ‘Sansad TV’ will be a kind of informative TV channel and will telecast high quality content keeping in mind the national and international audience.

The merged channel will air programmes centering around democratic values ​​and institutions of the country.

Ravi Kapoor, a retired Indian Administrative Service officer and former secretary in the Ministry of Textiles, has been made the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sansad TV, while Manoj Arora, Joint Secretary in the Lok Sabha Secretariat, will be its OSD.
