Srinagar: The vital road link which helps people to reach to Dargah Hazratbal and valley’s lone tertiary care hospital SKIMS Soura through Foreshore Road craves for an official attention as the less than half kilometer stretch has never been macadamized over these years.

People living around the area complained that the authorities seem to be lest bothered to macadamize Shalimar-Foreshore linking which gives tough time to the commuters.

Risky potholes, locals said have turned this vital road stretch vulnerable for even pedestrians to walk on, as the concerned authority’s always turn a blind eye towards the safety of the people.

“This is an important road link which reduces our time to reach to Dargah Hazratbal, SKIMS hospital and other areas of Srinagar but it’s unfortunate that this road have developed deep potholes after every two meters as the same has not been renovated for years altogether,” Mohammad Maqbool a local resident told ‘Precious Kashmir’.

He said the Shalimar-Foreshore link Road has become vulnerable for serious accidents from the both ends due to the deep dicey potholes.

People living in Shalimar and its adjacent areas appealed to the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to exert a pull on the concerned department for immediate renovation and macadamization of the stretch from both ends.

“Our hand folded request to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir is to kindly intervene so that this vital road link is made able for commuting. The regular traffic flow has turned the condition of the road worse thus putting the lives of pedestrians in grave risk,” another local, Mushtaq Ahmad Teli told this newspaper.

“2014 floods devastating deluge made this road vulnerable for traffic movement as the deep potholes from both sides not only poses threat of serious accidents but has also leads to irksome traffic jamming,” he added.
