New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday chaired a high level meeting on Jammu and Kashmir, to review the security situation especially in wake of Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and Army Chief MM Naravane were present at the meeting along with intelligence officials, sources said.
Jammu and Kashmir Police DGP Dilbagh Singh, R&AW Chief Samant Goel, IB Director Amit Kumar, DG CRPF Kuldiep Singh were also present at the meeting along with other officials.
Sources said it was a ‘routine meeting’ to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
An overall view of the security situation was done, and the Home Minister was also informed about the situation along the borders in terms of infiltration attempts.
The meeting assumes significance in the backdrop of Taliban takeover of Afghanistan. India has been concerned over terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir increasing in wake of the situation in Afghanistan.
