Mobile internet restored across Kashmir except Sgr, Budgam

Srinagar: Barring Srinagar and Budgam districts, mobile internet was on Monday evening restored in Kashmir after remaining suspended for five days following the death of Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani last week.

Officials said that mobile internet services were restored after 7 pm in eight districts of Kashmir.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar said that the decision regarding restoration of the mobile internet services in Srinagar and Budgam will be reviewed tomorrow afternoon.

Mobile internet was snapped soon after veteran Kashmir leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s death on evening of September 1.

The authorities had also snapped telephony and broadband internet except lesser-used BSNL services but the services were restored after three days. (GNS)
