Baramulla, Sep 3: Rejecting reports that some youth from Kashmir have joined Taliban, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh on Friday said there is nothing to worry and everything is alright even after the change in Afghanistan.
He said after the death of Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Wednesday night at Srinagar, not a single untoward incident was reported from any part of the valley.
When asked if there will be any impact after change in the Afghanistan situation, DGP said there is no need to worry, everything is alright.
Talking to reporters here after reviewing the overall security situation following the death of Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Wednesday night at Srinagar, DGP rejected reports on social media that some youth from the valley have joined Taliban in Afghanistan.
These mischief reports are being circulated from across the border, he said adding people should not believe such reports.
“Don’t you see youth playing cricket and other games”, he said.
DGP said he had come to Baramulla to review the situation after the death of Geelani.
The situation was absolutely normal and there was not a single report of any incident, Singh said and congratulated security forces besides common people to maintain peace.
Asked about restoration of internet service, DGP said we will soon review the situation and take a decision. It will be very soon, Singh said when again asked in how many days the internet facility, suspended since Wednesday night said.
