Militant hideout busted in Gurez

Srinagar: Security forces busted a militant hideout and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition, including three AK-47 rifles and 16 grenades, in the border town of Gurez in the north Kashmir district of Bandipora, official sources said on Wednesday.

They said following specific information about a militant hideout, a joint search operation was launched by Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K police and Army in the forest area of Tarbal in Gurez, which is surrounded by Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PaK) from three sides.

During the operation, security forces unearthed a militant hideout and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition — including three AK-47 rifles, 12 AK rifle magazines, over 350 rounds, 16 grenades, two pistols and four pistol magazines.

However, they said no arrests have been made so far. (UNI)
