Srinagar: An amalgam of Jammu and Kashmir Employees Unions (JKEU) on Wednesday announced the formation of a joint platform under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Employees United Front (JKEUF) to push for the regularisation of daily wagers and casual labours of Jammu and Kashmir.

While addressing the press conference, employee leaders said that there has been a long pending genuine demand of regularisation of daily wagers and casual labours of Jammu and Kashmir.

EJAC president Mohd Rafiq said that to plead the regularisation of casual and daily wagers employees working in the different departments, many employee unions decided to form a single platform to press for their regularisation.

The leaders during the presser said that the employees working as daily wagers and casual labours in different departments have rendered their services in tough times and many have laid down their lives, during their duties, however till date no regularisation of these employees have taken place.

Appealing to the government for the regularisation they said the government should took a human view towards these daily wagers and casual labours who are more than 61000 in number, and  are living their life in a miserable condition and are hardly making their daily life needs.

They further said, they have planned a protest on 21 August both in Jammu and Kashmir division, adding “if the government will not take any decision in this regard we will be forced to go on strike.” (KNO)
