Bring J&K at par with other UTs in terms of Medical Allowance, other perks
Srinagar: Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) President Fayaz Ahmad Shabnum on Sunday appealed the government to release DA in favour of the employees ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.
Shabnum on behalf of entire employees fraternity of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir appealed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta to consider releasing of 11 per cent DA before Eid-ul-Azha in favour of the five lakh employees along with the three lakh pensioners, saying that it has already been released in favour of the Central Government employees.
He also reiterated the demand of the employees to enhance the Medical Allowance from Rs 300-Rs 1000 so as to alleviate the difference and bring about on the same analogy to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir with that of the rest of the Union Territories that are already enjoying the enhanced Medical Allowance and other perks.
Fayaz Ahmad Shabnum said that it was apt time to do the needful at an earliest so that the employees would be able to celebrate the festival of Eid-ul-Azha with traditional gaiety and fervor.
