Baramulla: One person was killed and four others were injured when a car they were travelling in met with an accident in border area of Uri in this north Kashmir district on Thursday.
Official sources said that a car skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at Zamoorpattan, Uri, in Baramulla today resulting in injuries to all the five occupants.
Sources said an operation was immediately launched by locals and all the five were rescued in an injured condition. However, Mohammad Islam Taas, who was driving the car died on way to hospital, they said adding the injured have been admitted to Government Medical College (GMC) hospital at Barmulla.
The condition of the injured identified as Gulshana Bano, Badr-uddin Bajad, Jameel Ahmad Taas and Khadim Hussain is stated to be stable.
Police has registered a case and started investigation, they added.
