SEECC meets Principal Secretary School Education, submits memorandum

Srinagar: The School Education Employees Coordination Committee (SEECC) Thursday met Principal Secretary of School Education B.K. Singh and apprised him of the most important issue of the confirmation of CEOs and the lingering process of confirmation of in-charge lecturers in the department at plus two levels since 2013.

The Chairman SEECC Dr. Manzoor Ahmad along with president JKTF Mohammad Akbar Khan submitted a memorandum wherein they demanded confirmation of in-charge CEOs mostly retired now and in-charge lecturers working in the same pay and grade since 2013, clear cut annual transfer drive of the employees with proper posting details minimizing the inconvenience to the stakeholders. The reference of employees of the DODA district was given who experienced unavoidable circumstances through annual transfer drive (ATD).

The other demands include restructuring of DIETs and SCERTs at the earliest as per the NEP 2020 guidelines to make these institutes vibrant knowledge and research institutes in the Jammu Kashmir to boost the system of research and training for the holistic development of the teaching community and the professional development of the HOIs of different educational institutes.

“Rationalization of teachers and other allied staff as per PTR and as per subject-specific requirements in the middle, primary and high schools as envisaged in NEP 2020. This is the most important issue in the current times as a huge disparity is experienced in the urban-rural ratio of teachers in the schools. Promotion of masters as headmasters as a huge number of high schools are without heads thus leading to the issues of management and leadership in marshaling the resources smoothly in the schools,” the memorandum reads.

It added that adequate fund allocation to the schools for upgrading sports and digital infrastructure as per NEP 2020 recommendations.

Mir Fayaz Ahmad, media advisor plus two lecturers forum, Rouf Shehmeri Ex CEO, Farooq Ahmad EX Ceo, Pirzada Nisar Ex Ceo, Farooq Ahmad Koul Principal, and Mohammad Yousuf John Principal were part of the delegation during the meeting with Principal Secretary.

It is pertinent to mention that SEECC expressed deep sense of gratitude to the Principal Secretary Education for adding enthusiasm in the department from top to bottom. The work culture has visibly improved under the incredible leadership of B K Singh Principal Secretary.
