Policeman injured in Doda grenade blast

Doda: A policeman was injured in a blast that took place in the main town of Doda district on Monday.

A police spokesman said that unidentified men attacked a police post in Doda town. “One police man received minor splinter injuries in the attack. Police have cordoned off the area and started searches to nab the attackers.

“According to initial reports the incident took place at around 5 pm when unidentified assailants hurled a hand grenade towards the police post guarding district police lines DPL. One police man on duty received splinter injuries. He was immediately shifted to government medical college hospital Doda where his condition is stated to be out of danger,” the spokesman said, adding that “Immediately after the incident the entire area including adjoining localities have been condoned off and people are being questioned. No arrest has been made so far. Efforts are on to nab the culprit.”

It is pertinent to mention here that Doda has been free from the presence of militants for a long time. Police also claim that there was no movement or presence of militants in Doda district. The incident has taken place in Doda town after many years. (KNO)
