Srinagar: The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) is organising a mega vaccination mela in the summer capital Srinagar on Monday, an official spokesman said.
The day-long event will be held at Pantha Chowk near police station, Parimpora New Bus stand and Batmaloo old bus stand opposite police station.
“A little pain for a lot of gain, your vaccine is your lifeline”, said the DDMA. The number of people vaccinated during the event will be known only this evening.
Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar Aijaz Asad in a tweet said “Grab your jab. Choose life, not COVID”.
Even though the number of COVID positive cases has witnessed a major drop, the week-end curfew will continue capital city, Srinagar till further orders.
According to an official report, 75 fresh cases were reported in Srinagar, where 829 deaths have occurred due to deadly corona virus since the outbreak of COVID in the country till last night.
