Family of missing youth in Kupwara appeal son to return home

Srinagar: Family members of a youth, who had gone missing last month in frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara, has appealed to him to return home.

A youth, identified as Mohammad Mujtaba Sheikh, had gone to seek consultation with a doctor on June 24 in Tikipora in Kupwara, but never returned. His family has filed an FIR in the local police station.

“I appeal to Mujtaba to return home as his mother and sister are all alone. Mujtaba’s father died a few years back and all the responsibility of the family lies with him… I urge him to return as his mother has fallen sick since he went missing,” Razia Bano, the cousin of Mujtaba, said.

The mother of the missing youth, identified as Sharifa Begum, said that Mujtaba left home in the morning of 24 to visit a doctor as he was not feeling well. “But, he has not returned since. If he is listening to me, I urge him to return home as he is our only hope and the lost earner of this family,” she said.

Meanwhile, the uncle of the missing youth appealed to all security agencies and militants to return Mujtaba if he is with them. “Please return him… we don’t know what happened to him… whether he is with militants of any agency… we urge all of them to return the son and sole earners of this family,” he added.
