Bear mauls man in Dooru village

Anantnag: Bear are on prowl in Dooru villages of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Three bear attacks were reported within a week in Dooru villages. The villagers have requested Wild Life Department to capture these bear that have created fear psychosis among population.

Villagers said that in a recent attack, bear mauled a man in Mirmaidan village of Dooru. The man who has been identified as Altaf Hussain Bodha is battling for life in the hospital. He has sustained serious multiple injuries.

Earlier, two persons were also attacked by bears. They are still undergoing treatment.

Villagers allege that Wild Life Department is showing no interest in getting these bears captured. (KNT)
