Police working in tandem with security forces to uproot militancy: DGP

Srinagar: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh on Thursday said that J&K police is working shoulder to shoulder with other security forces, including Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to uproot militancy and its network from Union Territory (UT).

A police spokesman said this evening that Director General (DG) of CISF Sudhir Kumar Saxena visited Police Headquarter (PHQ) and met DGP Singh here this afternoon.

The officers interacted about the general security scenario of the Union Territory and particularly about the vital installations.

DGP J&K during the interaction with DG CISF said that Jammu and Kashmir Police was doing multifarious duties and has been countering militancy at different fronts. He said in close coordination with security forces including CISF the J&K Police is providing security to people and vital installations in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that police enjoyed excellent synergy with security forces including the CISF.

Singh said that the Police is working shoulder to shoulder with other security forces to uproot militancy and its network from J&K. He said that for quick action against the militant groups, the intelligence grid has been strengthened.

DGP said that during the last few years tremendous changes have taken place in Jammu and Kashmir Police in the shape of weaponry, training skills and technology. He said that latest technology driven gadgets have been introduced for confronting different challenges.

The DG CISF complemented the DGP and his entire team of all ranks of Jammu Kashmir Police for the outstanding work being done for peace in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that J&K Police has a huge role in the maintenance of peace and eliminating militancy from the UT. He further added that both the forces will continue to work hand in hand in providing security to vital installations in the UT.
