Over Rs 6 lakh realized from Covid norm violators in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 25: As many as 4681 people were fined Rs 6.57 lakh for violating COVID-19 guidelines during the last 24 hours in Kashmir valley.

A police spokesperson said that continuing its efforts to curb the outbreak of second wave of Coronavirus, police arrested a person, lodged two FIRs and also realized fine to the tune of Rs 6,57,540 from 4681 people during the last 24 hours in the valley for violating various COVID-19 guidelines.

He said the special drive against the violators of COVID-19 guidelines continued in all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic.

“Community members are once again requested to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/protocols for their own safety and for the safety of others. The special drive shall continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures,” he added.
