Active cases decline from 39,000 to 7000 in UT

Srinagar: The active cases in Jammu and Kashmir have declined from around 39,000 to around 7000 in the last one month.

As per the data, on May 24 the active cases in J&K were 45,136  while on June 23, the active cases had reached 6,782.

In J&K, the highest active cases are in Srinagar while less active cases are in Shopian.

Srinagar is the only district where active cases are above 1000. Kathua, Samba and Shopian are the three districts where active cases are below 100.

There are 1,179 active cases in Srinagar, Baramulla has 498, Budgam 548, Pulwama 439, Kupwara 480, Anantnag 405, Bandipora 224, Ganderbal 205, Kulgam 271 and Shopian has 28 active cases

Data also reveals that there are 750 active cases in Jammu, 108 in Udhampur, 244 in Rajouri, 636 in Doda, 69 in Kuthua,  69 in Samba, 114 Kishtwar, 271 in Poonch, 133 in Ramban and 111 in Reasi.

Pertinently in the first wave of Covid-19, the highest active cases were around 22,000, however, during the second wave active cases were above 50,000. (KNO)
