Pak smuggler shot dead, BSF seizes 27 Kg heroin at IB

New Delhi: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday said it has seized 27 kg of heroin along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district.

According to the BSF officials, the troopers guarding at Border Out post at Vinay in Kathua, noticed some suspicious movement on IB from Pakistan side during the wee hours of June 23.

When the Pakistani smugglers entered IB towards Indian side, they were challenged and fired upon by the vigilant guards.

“During search of the area, 27 packets of heroin were found near the fence having approximate value of this narco-consignment is about 135 crore in the international market. A dead body of a smuggler was also found during the search operation”, the BSF officials said.

They also informed that the Narcotics Control Bureau personnel have also arrived on the site.

With this recovery, BSF Jammu has once again exposed the nefarious designs of Pak authorities to smuggle Narcotics consignment to India through International border, the BSF said in a statement. (UNI)
