Killing of CID inspector in Srinagar widely condemned

Srinagar, Jun 23 (UNI) Killing of CID inspector of Jammu and Kashmir police Parvaiz Ahmad Dar in Srinagar outskirts on Tuesday evening was widely condemned.
Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (UT) Lt Governor Manoj Sinha strongly condemned the killing of Dar and said his supreme sacrifice would not go in vain and that the militants will be punished for the act.
In a tweet Sinha said, “ I strongly condemn the brutal killing of Inspector Shri Parvaiz Ahmad Dar of J&K Police outside mosque in Nowgam by terrorists. His supreme sacrifice won’t go in vain, terrorists will be punished for the act. My heartfelt condolences to the family of martyr”.

Former chief minister and president of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti said this senseless violence only brings miseries and does not lead us anywhere.

Taking to micro blogging site Twitter, she said, “ Strongly condemn the barbaric killing of @JmuKmrPolice inspector Parvaiz Ahmad. This senseless violence only brings miseries & doesn’t lead us anywhere. My sympathies & solidarity with the family of the braveheart & prayers for the departed soul”.

Another former CM and vice-president of the National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah in a tweet said, “ I join my party colleagues in condemning the killing of this brave police person Inspector Parvaiz Dar. May the departed find place in Jannat & may his loved ones find strength during this difficult time”.

The NC in a tweet said, “JKNC unequivocally condemns the killing of @JmuKmrPolice officer. Expressing unison with the bereaved family, the party prays for peace to departed soul”.

Condemning the killing, the Apni Party (AP) said violence has no place in any civilized society and killing of human being is totally abhorable.

In a tweet the AP said, “Strongly condemn Killing of policeman in #Nowgam, #Srinagar. Violence has no place in any civilised society & killing of human beings is totally abhorrable. #ApniParty stands in solidarity with bereaved family in this difficult time. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace”.

Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Mayor and AP youth president Junaid Azim Mattu said, “ Strongly condemn the terrorist attack – a cowardly act that has snatched yet another life! May Inspector Parvaiz’s sacrifice in the line of duty not be in vain. My deepest condolences with his family and colleagues”.

In a tweet, a senior police officer Imtiyaz Hussain said, “We lost a brave colleague Inspector Parvaiz in a cowardly terror attack in Srinagar while he was on way home after offering prayers in mosque. An ever smiling brilliant officer, he will be missed badly”.

In a statement, Communist Party of India (M) senior leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, condemned the killing of police inspector Parvez Ahmad Dar in Nowgam area of Srinagar and said that violence in any form is condemnable.

He termed the incident ‘unfortunate’ and said that there is an urgent need to put an end to these killings.

The CPI(M) leader expresses deep sympathy with the bereaved family.
