Centre re-appoints MK Jain as RBI Deputy Governor

New Delhi: The Central government on Wednesday extended the tenure of Mahesh Kumar Jain as Reserve Bank of India Deputy Governor for two years.

According to the RBI, Mr Jain’s second appointment will begin from June 22, 2021, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, upon completion of his existing term on June 21, 2021.

Mr Jain has earlier served as the MD & CEO of IDBI Bank before being appointed as RBI Deputy Governor in June 2018. Before joining IDBI Bank, he headed the Indian Bank.
