Police, CRPF men foil suicide bid in Srinagar

Srinagar: A group of Jammu and Kashmir policemen and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) men foiled the suicide bid by a woman on Budshah Bridge in Srinagar, a video of which has also went viral on the social media platform.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a video has gone viral on social media platforms in which some cops and CRPF men could be seen rescuing a lady, who was trying to end her life by jumping into river Jhelum.

However, it was not known as to what prompted her to take this extreme step.

Meanwhile, CRPF PRO in a statement said that a woman tried to commit suicide by jumping from Budshah Bridge at Jehangir Chowk in Srinagar today at around 10:45 AM.

He said that Sub Inspector Mohan Lal of 132 Bn CRPF, who was deployed at the bridge, quickly responded and prevented the lady from causing any harm to herself.

He, joined by his team mates and State Police personnel removed the lady from the bridge and handed her over to the Police—(KNO)
