Srinagar: A teenage boy was found hanging from a tree in an orchard in the south Kashmir district of Kulgam, official sources said on Sunday.
They said panic gripped village Shouch in Kulgam when some locals saw a youth hanging from a tree in an orchard. “The locals immediately informed the police,” they said, adding a team was rushed to the area and the body was taken away.
They said the deceased was later identified as a 17-year-old youth (name withheld) who lived near the orchard where his body was found. “After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites,” they said.
They said that preliminary investigation indicates that the youth committed suicide. “A case has been registered and other angles are also being investigated,” they added.
